Self-check
Does your label comply?
Two minutes, seven questions at most, and we tell you exactly what your label is missing — with the rule and the deadline for each item. Nothing to sign up for, no file to upload.
What do you sell?
Obligations differ a lot between sectors. Pick yours so the questions are the ones that actually apply to you.
The EU packaging and packaging waste regulation (PPWR, Regulation (EU) 2025/40) has applied since 12 August 2026. For a small brand it lands on two dates: from 12 August 2028 every pack sold in the EU must carry harmonised material and waste-sorting marking, and from 2030 it needs 70 % recyclability to be placed on the market at all.
Wine is ahead of everyone: since December 2023 it has had to declare ingredients and nutrition (Regulation (EU) 2021/2117). It is the only sector allowed to put part of that behind a QR code, under strict conditions — energy value and allergens must be printed on the label itself, and the destination page may carry no advertising and no tracking, must be in the language of sale, and must stay alive while the wine is on the market.
Olive oil, honey, preserves and coffee do not share the wine obligation: they fall under the nutrition declaration and allergen rules of Regulation (EU) 1169/2011, plus PPWR material marking in 2028. Cosmetics have their own regulation (EC 1223/2009) and food supplements their mandatory warnings (Spanish RD 1487/2009). Spirits, by contrast, are not required to declare ingredients or nutrition (Regulation (EU) 2019/787).
This self-check separates what is already mandatory from what has a future deadline, so that if you are going to redesign, you do it once and cover all of it.
